I’m Kate Gaynor, the creator and founder of Alchemist Paint. I am the third generation in my family to work in the paint industry.

My parents, Pat and Mary, met in 1979 while working at Dulux Paints. My father was a paint chemist, and my mother was in quality control. This shared passion for paint led them to establish Advanced Coatings in 1995, Ireland’s leading industrial and commercial paint supplier.

Advanced Coatings, our family business, has traditionally specialized in custom technical paints for industrial and commercial projects. When my parents retired, I diversified the company to include high-performance paints for homes, which led to the creation of The Paint Hub.

At The Paint Hub, we wholesale a range of diverse paint products through paint shops across Ireland and engage with DIYers, homeowners, and professionals on social media at @Carlowpainthub.

Motivated by decades of family expertise, I founded Alchemist, Ireland’s leading eco-friendly paint brand. Our mission is to provide safe, high-quality paints for Irish homes and the environment, creating spaces where everyone feels right at home.
